Start off your Lapland trip in Stockholm, the jewel in Sweden’s crown. Try some traditional Swedish meatballs and wander round the impressive Christmas Markets before embarking on your Northern adventure. Hop on board your cozy sleeper train and admire the serene, snowy views, before waking up in beautiful Abisko.
Abisko is a haven for winter adventurers. This tiny village is nestled among mountains and lakes plays host to the Aurora Sky Station, widely said to be the best place in the world to see the Northern Lights due its minimal light and noise pollution. Take a 20 minute cable car and admire the serene beauty of Abisko national park as it unfolds before you – a truly magical way to spend the night.
Next, travel along the Swedish/Norwegian border, to Kiruna – gateway to the Arctic Circle and home to the famous IceHotel.
If you upgrade to the hotel option we’ll organise your transfer as well, so you can enjoy either a cozy IceHotel warm room, or a cold room (literally made of ice) for a night if you’re feeling brave! Abisko is often said to be the best place in the world to see the Northern lights. A national park filled with lakes, mountains and hardly a streetlamp in sight, it’s the perfect destination for an arctic tour. Take a cable car ride up the mountain to see the famous Aurora Borealis, which occur more often here than almost anywhere else!

Train to Kiruna – 2 hours
Gateway to the Arctic Circle, Kiruna lies near the Norwegian border. It is famous for being a centre of winter activities, such as cross country skiing and horse riding.
