Top Reasons to visit Europe in Fall

The Best Time to Visit Europe: Here’s why you should go this Autumn!

Still not sorted yourself out with a summer holiday? Don’t stress – there’s still time to escape to Europe in fall – and we think it might just be the best time to visit Europe. Go on – you know you deserve it.

1. Prices are Cheaper

Going away between September and November can save you loads of money because kids are back to school and it’s not peak holiday season. Going away in Autumn means you’ll steal a great deal and give yourself something great to look forward to in the Winter months. Off peak also means fewer tourists, and fewer tourists means less stress and more time exploring the amazing cities you’ll visit!

2. Beat the Winter Blues

You know what’s worse than British summer weather? British winter weather! But it’s not just us Brits who benefit from an Autumn escape – if you live anywhere with depressing winter weather, heading to Europe in Fall gives you the best of both worlds. Make the most of the “summer” back home, and then get away somewhere where it’s still hot when the weather there starts to give you hypothermia.

Autumn is often a great time to visit really hot countries like Spain and Italy, since you’ll avoid the scorching sun and humidity of the summer months. It can also be beautiful in Northern Europe – think long walks on crisp clear days, soft golden light (perfect for those camera moments!) and crunchy leaves underfoot.

3. Experience some amazing new festivals

There are some amazing festivals and events to discover in Europe – why not head to one of the many music festivals which keep summer’s momentum running into fall. Aside from the world-famous Oktoberfest, there’s September’s Lollapalooza festival in Berlin, Amsterdam Dance Event in October (perfect for dance music fiends) and Torino’s Movement Festival in November – just a selection among countless others.

4. Get the festive season started!

Of course, the colder months wouldn’t be complete without Europe’s annual Christmas markets! These start in late November and run through to January, enchanting visitors year upon year. Some of our favourites can be found in Brussels, Cologne and Strasbourg (self-proclaimed Capital of Christmas!), and you can’t beat the cozy Scandi charm of the Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo markets. Late fall is one of the best times to visit these markets, as they’ll be less crowded than in December.

5. Feed yourself up for Winter

We don’t know about you, but here at Euroventure we firmly believe in stocking up for the big freeze.

What better way to kick off the feast than a visit to Europe’s gastronomical powerhouses? Pizza in Italy… Paella in Spain… Currywurst, Goulash, Snitzel, Strudel, Bratwurst, Balkan Bourek and beer, beer and more beer in Germany… We could go on and on. Best of all you don’t need to feel guilty about any of it (not that you should anyway) because you need to keep warm, right!? Best of all… the beach is months away!

So what are you waiting for? With some great deals coming up and plenty of European packages to choose from, there’s no excuse. Europe in Fall is one of the best-kept secrets out there, so go on, treat yourself!
